Overview

Physics AI is an educational tool that provides step-by-step explanations and solutions to physics problems using artificial intelligence. Users can type or upload a physics question, and the tool will guide them through the solution process, including relevant formulas, assumptions, and calculation steps. The platform covers all major physics fields, including mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, optics, relativity, and quantum physics. It's designed to support learning, practice, and self-study, not to replace manual work or academic submissions. Physics AI has a free plan that supports 10 tutoring requests per month, and paid plans start at $6 per month for 400 tutoring requests. The subscription can be canceled at any time, and users are responsible for adhering to academic integrity policies to avoid any potential issues.

Homework Help for Physics Students

Students can submit physics problems via text or image and receive step-by-step worked solutions to better understand assignments across mechanics, electromagnetism, and other branches.

Exam Preparation and Revision

Learners preparing for tests can practice problems and review detailed concept and formula breakdowns to reinforce understanding before exams.

Concept Reinforcement for Self-Study

Curious learners studying physics independently can use the tool as an on-demand tutor to clarify topics in thermodynamics, optics, and more outside the classroom.

Teaching Aid for Educators

Teachers can use the solver to generate clear step-by-step explanations and example problems to support lesson planning and in-class demonstrations.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Delivers step-by-step solutions, not just answers
  • Covers a broad range of physics topics
  • Accepts both text and image inputs
  • Useful for self-study and exam prep

Cons

  • Accuracy may vary on advanced or niche problems
  • Heavy reliance can hinder independent learning
  • Limited depth compared to a human tutor

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on concept and formula breakdowns, and covers a broad range of physics topics caught me off guard. Limited depth compared to a human tutor is why this isn't a perfect score, still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Coverage of multiple physics branches is exactly what I needed, and accepts both text and image inputs. but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and useful for self-study and exam prep. Instant response times fits neatly into how we already work, and concept and formula breakdowns removed a step we used to do by hand. but it has held up under daily use.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: image-based question input and accepts both text and image inputs. On balance the feature set — especially coverage of multiple physics branches — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.
