Visual Explainer is a security-tested data-ai skill for Claude AI that generates self-contained HTML pages to visually explain systems, data stories, investigations, editorial workflows, and code changes. It is designed to be used when a user requests a diagram, architecture overview, diff review, plan review, project recap, source map, comparison table, timeline, or any visual explanation of technical or editorial concepts. The skill can also proactively render complex ASCII tables as styled HTML pages. It was adapted from nicobailon/visual-explainer with journalism, newsroom, and academic design sensibilities.

The generated visualizations are HTML files, so you need a web browser to view them. If you enable the optional surf‑cli feature for AI‑generated images, you’ll also need that extra dependency installed.
