Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Manuscript- and grant-ready output formatting is exactly what I needed, and produces publication-ready figures quickly. I do wish limited to figure generation, not full data analysis, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: aI-generated scientific charts and diagrams and designed for academic and scientific contexts. On balance the feature set — especially presentation-friendly export options — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is manuscript- and grant-ready output formatting — handled better than most — and produces publication-ready figures quickly. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Q&A

Is Plottie free to use?

Yes! Plottie has a generous free tier that allows you to generate unlimited plots and export them in standard quality. We also offer Pro plans for high-resolution vector exports (SVG) and advanced AI features.

Asked by Lindiwe Mahlangu · Jun 30, 2026

Which AI models does Plottie use?

Unlike generic image generators (like Midjourney), Plottie uses domain-specific models fine-tuned on scientific literature and datasets. This ensures that biological structures, chemical formulas, and data visualizations are logically accurate, not just artistically pleasing.

Asked by Jibril Abubakar · May 27, 2026

Do I own the copyright to the images generated?

Yes, you own 100% of the rights. All images and charts generated by Plottie are royalty-free and can be used in academic publications (e.g., Nature, Science), posters, and presentations without needing further permission.

Asked by Miriam Cohen · May 6, 2026

Is my uploaded data used to train your AI?

No. Your data privacy is our priority. We do not use your uploaded datasets or private prompts to train our public models. Your research data remains confidential and is processed securely.

Asked by Carmela Esposito · Apr 27, 2026

How does Plottie prevent "AI hallucinations" in diagrams?

We prioritize logic over creativity. For diagrams and schemas, Plottie generates structured vector paths based on established scientific principles, ensuring that DNA spirals turn the right way and cell organelles are correctly labeled.
