Skeptical, then convinced
I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on fast splitting without server uploads, and significantly faster than cloud-based alternatives caught me off guard. Performance depends on the user's device is why this isn't a perfect score, still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.
Years in this space
I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is watermark-free exports — handled better than most — and no uploads required, keeping files private. Worth the time if this is your use case.
Solid for our team
We rolled this out across the team last quarter and no usage limits or paywalled features. Fast splitting without server uploads fits neatly into how we already work, and local in-browser video processing removed a step we used to do by hand. Performance depends on the user's device, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Does the job
Pretty happy overall. Local in-browser video processing just works and no uploads required, keeping files private. May struggle with very large files on weak hardware can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.
Q&A
How long does it take to split video?
Fast Mode is nearly instant for any file size. Re-encoding depends on your CPU and video resolution; a 5-minute 1080p clip typically takes 30–90 seconds on a modern laptop.
Asked by Ulrik Madsen · Jul 5, 2026
Does this work on mobile devices?
Mostly. Chrome on Android handles moderate-size videos well. iOS Safari is slower due to limited WASM performance. For large 4K files, a desktop browser is recommended.
Asked by Amina Diallo · Jun 28, 2026
Can I split a video without losing quality?
Yes. Enable Fast Mode and the tool copies the original video and audio streams without re-encoding, so quality is bit-for-bit identical to the source. The only caveat is that cuts snap to the nearest keyframe, which may be up to a second or two from your chosen split point.
Asked by Ximena Torres · Jun 23, 2026
How do I split a video for Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts?
Use the 'By Duration' mode and set the segment length to match the platform's limit — 90 seconds for Instagram Reels, 10 minutes for TikTok, or 60 seconds for YouTube Shorts. You can also use Free Split mode to place cut points at exact moments for cleaner transitions between clips.
Asked by Rina Desai · Jun 14, 2026
What happens to the audio when I split a video?
Audio is always preserved. Each output clip contains the corresponding audio segment synced to the video. In Fast Mode the original audio codec is copied as-is; in normal mode the audio is re-encoded alongside the video to match your chosen output format.
