Actions are hard monthly limits based on your selected plan tier. When you reach your limit, you'll need to move to a higher tier or plan to continue running agents and automations. Why do you price by actions?

Actions directly reflect the amount of useful work Budibase is doing. This aligns pricing with real business value, not just seats or arbitrary limits.

Actions represent the total work your agents, apps and automations perform. If your agent takes an action or your workflow runs a step, that counts as an action. If a user creates, updates or deletes a row in the Budibase DB or a SQL DB - that counts as one action. Custom SQL queries and API requests are not included as actions. Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. AI agent creation tools is exactly what I needed, and combines apps, automations, and AI agents. I do wish less suited for customer-facing products, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: role-based access controls and open source with self-hosting option. On balance the feature set — especially workflow automation engine — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Self-hosted or cloud deployment just works and faster than custom-coding internal tools. Requires some technical knowledge to use well can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.
