Do API requests cost extra?

Requests made through the API platform—including third-party integrations such as Slack and any custom applications or AI agents you build—count toward your concurrent session license, exactly like usage in the UI, Teams, or MCP. Your license is based on the number of simultaneous active sessions rather than named users or metered API calls, so you can scale across the UI and the API without tracking call counts.

Concurrent session licensing is based on the number of simultaneous active sessions rather than named users, offering more flexibility across your organization. A concurrent session is a single LLM-driven request to Wren AI, including answering a question or producing an analytical output (chart, summary, report, or GenBI App), counted from the start of the request to the return of its output, whether made in the UI or through an API, Teams, Slack, or MCP endpoint. AI-assisted authoring tools such as the Modeling AI Assistant and AI Advisor do not count. As a general reference, 1 concurrent session typically supports around 5 active users. However, actual requirements vary depending on query frequency and peak usage patterns. The Enterprise Plus plan starts at 10 concurrent sessions.

How do credit resets and billing cycles work?

At the end of each billing cycle (your subscription period, e.g., monthly or annually), we will reset and recalculate your remaining credits to align with your plan’s renewal: 👉 Monthly Plan: Any unused credits will be recalculated and rolled over, up to a maximum of twice your monthly plan allowance. 👉 Annual Plan: Credits do not roll over and will be fully reset at the start of each new billing cycle.

Yes, you can switch between monthly and annual billing, but there are important differences to note: 👉 Upgrading (Monthly → Annual): You can switch to annual billing at any time by updating your payment method. The change takes effect immediately, granting you access to the annual plan benefits. However, the prorated charge for the upgrade will be applied at the end of your current monthly billing cycle. 👉 Downgrading (Annual → Monthly): You must wait until the end of your current annual billing period before switching to monthly billing. The change will take effect automatically at the start of the next billing cycle, ensuring you retain access to your annual plan benefits for the full duration of the billing period.

What's the difference between web credits & API credits?

Web Credits: Used when you work inside the Wren AI Cloud interface: asking questions, generating charts, execute operations in the Web UI. API Credits: Your credits are used only for API requests where the Wren AI models are invoked to perform tasks requiring AI models, such as: Content Generation: Generating responses to user questions or creating new content. Summarization: Processing large texts or datasets to generate concise summaries. Visualization: Creating or suggesting charts and visualizations from data inputs. Credits are not consumed for basic non-AI API actions (e.g., retrieving metadata, CRUD operations) that do not engage our core AI models.

Are there any additional fees for using beta features in Wren AI Cloud?

Accepted Answer

Currently, all labeled in beta features in Wren AI Cloud are available at no additional cost. However, we may introduce separate pricing for certain advanced features in the future. We’ll always communicate any changes well in advance to keep you informed.

How are credits calculated, and will I be charged if an action fails?

Credits are only deducted when an operation is successfully completed. Actions such as generating charts, using the spreadsheet view, asking questions (Ask), and running follow-up queries all consume credits according to our Credit Pricing Table. Important: If an action fails or returns an error, no credits will be charged.
