Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: downloadable video outputs and useful for rapid content prototyping. Where it lags: results can vary with complex prompts. On balance the feature set — especially browser-based workflow — justifies the 4 stars for our use case.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Downloadable video outputs is exactly what I needed, and useful for rapid content prototyping. but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is short-form clip creation — handled better than most — and useful for rapid content prototyping. Results can vary with complex prompts is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and built on the capable Veo 3.1 model. Text-to-video generation via Veo 3.1 fits neatly into how we already work, and prompt-based scene and style control removed a step we used to do by hand. but it has held up under daily use.

Asked by Paulo Cardoso · Aug 10, 2025

What resolution and video length does Veo 3.1 support?

Veo 3.1 generates 1080p video at 24 frames per second, with a duration of 8 seconds per generation. You can extend your video by chaining multiple generations — up to ~148 seconds total — using the extend feature. For aspect ratio, choose 16:9 (landscape) or 9:16 (vertical/portrait) depending on your target platform (YouTube vs TikTok).

Does Veo 3.1 generate audio? How good is it?

Yes — and this is one of Veo 3.1's standout features. The model generates native, synchronized audio alongside your video: natural-sounding dialogue with lip sync, ambient sound effects (rain, wind, footsteps, city noise), and contextual background music. Audio generation can be toggled on or off per video. No post-production audio mixing required.
