Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on automatic document summarization, and quick summaries and information extraction caught me off guard. Requires uploading documents to a third-party service is why this isn't a perfect score, still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Key information extraction is exactly what I needed, and quick summaries and information extraction. I do wish accuracy depends on PDF text quality, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is automatic document summarization — handled better than most — and useful for research and study workflows. May struggle with scanned or image-heavy files is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and natural language Q&A interface. Key information extraction fits neatly into how we already work, and conversational chat with uploaded PDFs removed a step we used to do by hand. but it has held up under daily use.

Q&A

Can I get citations for answers from PDF AI?

Yes, the tool provides question‑answer responses with cited context, so you can see exactly where in the document each answer originates.

Asked by Anders Lindgren · Mar 11, 2026

Does PDF AI keep my PDFs private?

Uploaded PDFs are processed on a third‑party service, so while the tool is browser‑based, you should be aware that documents are temporarily stored for AI analysis and not permanently saved in the platform.

Asked by Björn Karlsson · Jan 30, 2026

What types of documents can I upload to PDF AI?

You can upload any PDF, but performance is best with text-based files; scanned or image-heavy PDFs may yield lower accuracy because the tool relies on readable text.

Asked by Priya Nair · Jan 18, 2026

How does PDF AI handle large PDFs for summarization?

PDF AI can summarize multi-page documents by extracting key sections and condensing them into concise overviews, making it easier to grasp long reports or legal briefs quickly.
