Overview

NLSQL is a natural language interface that lets non-technical employees query company databases using everyday business questions. Instead of writing SQL or waiting on analysts, staff can ask questions through chat platforms and receive structured answers, summaries, or visual data on demand. The tool is positioned as a B2B AI agent for enterprises that want to scale data-driven decision making without expanding their analytics team. It connects to existing databases and messaging tools, applying access controls so users only see data they are permitted to view. NLSQL is typically deployed by operations, sales, finance, and supply chain teams that need fast, ad-hoc access to internal data without learning query languages or BI dashboards.

  • Natural language to SQL conversion

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Chat-based data querying interface just works and respects existing database permissions. but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Connectors for major SQL databases is exactly what I needed, and speeds up routine data requests. I do wish mainly aimed at enterprise customers, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: role-based data access controls and integrates with common chat and messaging platforms. Where it lags: mainly aimed at enterprise customers. On balance the feature set — especially integration with Slack, Teams, and other tools — justifies the 4 stars for our use case.

Q&A

What are the limits of NLSQL for complex analysis?

While it excels at ad‑hoc queries and quick visual answers, its natural‑language‑to‑SQL engine is less flexible than custom BI tools for highly complex analyses or multi‑step data modeling.

Asked by Zelda Brandt · Aug 2, 2025

Can I control what data individual users can see?

Yes, NLSQL inherits your existing database permissions and adds role‑based access controls, ensuring each user only receives results they are authorized to view.

Asked by Nadia Benali · Jun 21, 2025

Which databases and chat platforms does NLSQL integrate with?

It supports major SQL databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SAP HANA, Snowflake, Redshift, MySQL, Supabase and more, and can be accessed via Microsoft Teams, Slack, or a standalone web chat.

Asked by Björn Karlsson · Jun 14, 2025

How is NLSQL deployed and does any data leave my Azure tenant?

NLSQL is deployed directly from the Azure Marketplace into your own Azure subscription with a one‑click install. The bot runs inside your tenant, so no data is transferred outside your corporate environment.
