Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on text-to-image generation, and simple prompt-based workflow caught me off guard. Limited fine control compared to pro tools is why this isn't a perfect score, still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: quick render turnaround and accessible to non-technical users. On balance the feature set — especially downloadable image outputs — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Web-based interface just works and fast iteration on creative ideas. Fewer advanced editing features can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is quick render turnaround — handled better than most — and fast iteration on creative ideas. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and runs in the browser with no installation. Beginner-friendly controls fits neatly into how we already work, and text-to-image generation removed a step we used to do by hand. Fewer advanced editing features, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Q&A

What Is Nano Banana AI Image Generator?

Nano Banana is a powerful AI image generation tool built on Google's Gemini technology. You can create, edit, and transform images using simple text prompts right in your browser. No downloads or design experience needed.

Asked by Boris Yankov · Mar 7, 2026

How does Nano Banana AI image generation work?

Nano Banana uses Google's Gemini AI technology to understand your text descriptions and create matching images. You type what you want, and the AI analyzes your prompt using a 'thinking' process that considers composition, style, and details. It then generates the image in 10-15 seconds. You can also upload existing images for the AI to edit or use as style references.

Asked by Ulla Nielsen · Feb 17, 2026

Is Nano Banana free to use?

Yes, you can start using Nano Banana for free with no credit card required. The free tier gives you 10 image generations per day at standard resolution. For unlimited generations, 4K resolution, and priority processing, you can upgrade to Nano Banana Pro. Many users find the free tier enough for personal projects and testing.

Asked by Linda Petersen · Jan 8, 2026

What image formats and resolutions does Nano Banana support?

Nano Banana supports PNG and JPEG downloads. You can generate images at 1K, 2K, or 4K resolution depending on your plan. Aspect ratios include square (1:1), landscape (16:9), portrait (9:16), and custom sizes. For uploads, the AI accepts PNG, JPEG, and WebP files up to 20MB each.

Asked by Xander de Vries · Dec 30, 2025

Are my images and prompts private?

Your privacy matters to us. Images you create are not shared publicly or used to train AI models without your permission. You can delete your generation history at any time. We use encryption for all uploads and downloads. Business users can enable additional privacy controls that prevent any data retention beyond the active session.
