Overview

LTXV 13B is an open-source video generation model designed to produce coherent, high-fidelity clips with notable speed. With 13 billion parameters, it targets a balance between output quality and computational efficiency, making advanced video synthesis accessible to researchers, developers, and creators. The model emphasizes temporal consistency across frames, helping reduce flicker and drift that often plague generative video. Because it is released openly, users can self-host, fine-tune, and integrate it into custom pipelines without licensing constraints. It suits use cases ranging from creative prototyping and short-form content to experimentation in academic and applied AI research.

Key features

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is 13B parameter video generation model — handled better than most — and fully open-source and self-hostable. Setup may be complex for non-technical users is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: open weights and permissive access and customizable through fine-tuning. On balance the feature set — especially temporal consistency across frames — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. 13B parameter video generation model is exactly what I needed, and fast inference relative to comparable models. but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Q&A

What are the limits on output length and resolution?

While the model is optimized for speed, it has practical limits on clip length and resolution that depend on your GPU memory; longer or higher‑resolution videos may require multi‑GPU setups or down‑sampling.

Asked by Giulia Conti · Aug 1, 2025

Can I fine‑tune LTXV 13B for my own video style?

Yes, the open weights allow fine‑tuning and integration into custom pipelines, letting developers adapt the model to specific domains or artistic styles.

Asked by Dmitri Volkov · Jun 9, 2025

What hardware is required to run the model effectively?

The model needs a capable GPU (e.g., 24 GB VRAM or higher) for reasonable inference speed; lower‑end GPUs will struggle with performance and may be unable to generate longer clips.

Asked by Sven Bergqvist · Jun 4, 2025

What is the cost to use LTXV 13B?

LTXV 13B is completely open‑source and free to download; there are no licensing fees, but you must provide your own compute resources.
