Overview

Krisp is a desktop audio enhancement app that removes background noise, echo, and voice interruptions from both sides of a call in real time. It sits between your microphone, speakers, and conferencing software, so it works across Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Slack, and most other communication tools without needing native integrations. Beyond noise suppression, Krisp offers meeting transcription, AI-generated notes and summaries, and accent localization features aimed at support agents and global teams. It targets remote workers, call centers, podcasters, and anyone recording voice in less-than-ideal environments.

Key features

  • AI background noise cancellation
  • Echo and acoustic room cancellation

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: echo and acoustic room cancellation and works with virtually any calling or recording app. On balance the feature set — especially aI background noise cancellation — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Cross-platform desktop app for Windows and macOS is exactly what I needed, and works with virtually any calling or recording app. I do wish aggressive filtering may clip quiet speech, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is aI meeting notes and summaries — handled better than most — and low setup effort, runs in the background. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Q&A

Is Krisp only a noise‑cancelling app?

No—noise cancellation is a core feature, but Krisp also includes an AI Note Taker and Accent AI, providing transcription, note‑taking, and accent conversion for clearer, more productive meetings.

Asked by Ulrik Madsen · Jul 18, 2025

Does Krisp support in‑person, hybrid, and online meetings?

Yes. Krisp covers all meeting types. Use the desktop app for online calls and for recording in‑person meetings, the mobile app for on‑the‑go or offline discussions, and the same platform to handle hybrid situations. The Krisp Meeting Note Taker captures, transcribes, and summarizes every conversation in one place.

Asked by Quentin Lefevre · Jun 23, 2025

Is there a Krisp mobile app, and what features does it include?

Asked by Katarzyna Zielinska · Jun 16, 2025

Which languages does Krisp support for transcription?

Krisp provides on‑device English transcription for maximum privacy and speed, plus server‑based transcription in 15 additional languages: Spanish, French, German, Russian, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Hindi, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Czech, Ukrainian, and Korean. Asked by Paulo Cardoso · Jun 5, 2025

How accurate is Krisp transcription, and what affects quality?

Krisp transcription is tuned for real‑world meetings. Accuracy remains high even in noisy environments thanks to Noise Cancellation. Quality depends mostly on the speaker’s clarity and microphone, but because background distractions are filtered out first, you often see better results than with standalone transcription tools. Krisp also supports a Custom Vocabulary of up to 750 words, letting you tailor transcription to industry‑specific language.
