Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on customizable qualification criteria, and reduces SDR workload for repetitive tasks caught me off guard. Effectiveness depends on CRM data quality is why this isn't a perfect score, still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and operates 24/7 without manual oversight. Customizable qualification criteria fits neatly into how we already work, and customizable qualification criteria removed a step we used to do by hand. Less personal than a human SDR, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Around-the-clock availability is exactly what I needed, and reduces SDR workload for repetitive tasks. but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Q&A

AI SDR vs. AI Voice Agent: What is the difference?

Here is how to think about the distinction between AI SDR and AI Voice Agent: AI SDR is focused on sales qualification and meeting booking, serving sales and revenue teams with inbound or outbound call handling, qualification logic, and meeting scheduling. AI Voice Agent is a broader platform for support, FAQ answering, routing, and scheduling, serving any customer-facing team. Both can handle inbound and outbound calls, but AI SDR includes built-in qualification frameworks (BANT, MEDDIC, etc.) and deep CRM workflow integration, whereas AI Voice Agent offers general-purpose configuration. In JustCall, the AI SDR runs on the AI Voice Agent infrastructure, so the terms overlap, but the SDR is a sales‑specific configuration of the underlying voice agent.

How does an inbound AI SDR work?

An inbound AI SDR handles the calls that come to you. When a prospect calls in after seeing an ad, clicking a campaign link, or submitting a form, the AI SDR picks up immediately. The AI SDR greets the caller and identifies intent using natural language understanding. It does not ask them to press 1 or navigate a menu. It listens to what they say and responds conversationally. Based on your preset criteria (budget, company size, timeline, service area, or whatever qualifies a lead for your business), it asks the right questions in sequence. If the caller answers in a way that qualifies them, the AI SDR offers available meeting slots and confirms the booking on the call. After the call, it logs the qualification responses, the call summary, the booked meeting, and any follow-up tasks to your CRM. A confirmation SMS goes to the lead automatically. The inbound AI SDR is most effective for teams running outbound campaigns that generate inbound callbacks, teams with high inbound call volume where reps cannot answer every call, and businesses that need 24/7 lead capture without staffing around the clock.

What is an AI SDR?

An AI SDR (AI Sales Development Representative) is software that automates the first-touch sales workflow: answering inbound calls, qualifying leads against your criteria, booking meetings to your reps' calendars, and logging everything to your CRM. It does the work of a human SDR on the top of the funnel, at scale, without business hours. Unlike a chatbot that follows rigid scripts, an AI SDR understands intent, handles natural conversation, asks follow-up questions based on what the caller says, and adapts the flow dynamically. When a lead qualifies, it books. When a lead does not, it logs and routes appropriately. When the call needs a human, it transfers with full context. JustCall's AI SDR software handles both inbound and outbound workflows. For inbound, it answers every call that comes in from campaigns, ads, or form fills. For outbound, it can call back leads who submitted a form or expressed interest and start the qualification conversation immediately.

Asked by Elena Rossi · Dec 15, 2025

How quickly does the AI SDR respond to inbound leads?

Instantly. When a lead calls in, the AI SDR picks up immediately with no hold time. For outbound triggers (form fills, campaign responses), JustCall can initiate a callback within 60 seconds of the lead submission, before a human SDR could typically even see the notification.

Asked by Fatima Zahra · Dec 10, 2025

Who is the AI SDR software for?

Sales teams losing leads to voicemail, businesses where faster response wins deals, reps qualifying more than actually closing, founders who need pipeline without headcount, teams with no after-hours lead coverage, RevOps looking for consistent deal handling.
