Overview

This is an early implementation of Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP) for the Apache Unomi Customer Data Platform (CDP). It enables Claude to maintain user context through Apache Unomi profile management. The implementation provides several features, including profile lookup and creation using email, profile property management, basic session handling, and scope management for context isolation. However, it is intended for demonstration purposes only and has not been validated for production use. Other Unomi features, such as events and segments, are not currently implemented. The project allows users to set up an MCP server with a Unomi server by adding a server configuration and environment variables. Features include accessing profile data, retrieving a specific profile, searching for profiles, and creating a new Unomi scope. The project is currently subject to changes and does not have official support. Community feedback is welcome for future development priorities.

Q&A

What format is used for data exchange?

All data is exchanged in JSON format, making integration with Claude and Unomi straightforward via standard HTTP requests.

Asked by Xiomara Delgado · Sep 27, 2025

How does scope management work in this implementation?

Scope management isolates context, allowing separate MCP sessions to operate without interfering with each other, but the exact scope boundaries are handled internally via the server configuration.

What user data can I retrieve or manage with this MCP server?

You can look up or create profiles using email, manage profile properties, and perform basic session handling. Other Unomi features like events or segments are not yet implemented.
