Overview

Galileo AI is a generative design platform that turns natural language descriptions into editable user interface mockups. Designers, product managers, and developers can describe a screen or flow and receive layouts that approximate production-quality designs, helping teams move quickly from idea to visual prototype. The tool is aimed at shortening the early stages of the design process, where blank canvases and repetitive layout work often slow teams down. Outputs are typically structured for further refinement in standard design tools, making it suitable as a starting point rather than a final deliverable.

Key features

  • Text-to-UI generation
  • High-fidelity screen mockups
  • Editable, component-based outputs
  • Export to design tools like Figma
  • Prompt-based iteration
  • Support for common UI patterns

Use cases

Rapid UI Concept Exploration

Product teams generate multiple high-fidelity screen variations from text prompts to quickly explore directions before committing design resources to a chosen approach.

Kickstart Figma Mockups

Designers generate initial layouts from a prompt and export them to Figma, skipping the blank-canvas phase and focusing on refinement instead of base structure.

PM-Led Visual Specs

Product managers describe a feature in natural language to produce mockups that communicate intent to designers and engineers more clearly than wireframes or text.

Developer Prototyping

Developers without strong design skills generate editable UI mockups for internal tools or demos, lowering the barrier to creating presentable interfaces.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Fast generation of UI concepts from text
  • Lowers the barrier for non-designers
  • Useful for early-stage ideation and exploration
  • Outputs can be refined in mainstream design tools

Cons

  • Generated designs often need manual polish
  • Limited control over fine-grained details
  • Quality varies depending on prompt clarity

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. High-fidelity screen mockups is exactly what I needed, and lowers the barrier for non-designers. I do wish limited control over fine-grained details, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and fast generation of UI concepts from text. High-fidelity screen mockups fits neatly into how we already work, and prompt-based iteration removed a step we used to do by hand. but it has held up under daily use.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: text-to-UI generation and useful for early-stage ideation and exploration. On balance the feature set — especially high-fidelity screen mockups — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.
