Overview

The 'Do' skill is a part of the Plan-Build-Run (PBR) system, designed to automatically route freeform text from users to the most appropriate PBR skill. It acts as a dispatcher, analyzing user input and directing it to the relevant skill without executing the work itself. The skill uses natural language processing to classify user requests based on keywords and context, allowing for flexible and dynamic routing. It also supports configuration options for customizing its behavior.

The 'Do' skill can be used to route user requests to the appropriate PBR skill, such as debugging, planning, or quick task execution.

Automated Dispatching

The skill can automatically dispatch user requests to relevant skills based on natural language input, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Automatic routing of user requests to appropriate skills
  • Natural language processing for flexible input handling
  • Configurable features for customized behavior

Cons

  • Reliance on keyword matching and context analysis, which may not always be accurate
  • Requires proper configuration to ensure effective routing

Q&A

What are the main limitations of using Do?

Accuracy depends on keyword matching and context analysis, which can misclassify ambiguous requests. Proper configuration is required to ensure effective routing, and Do itself does not execute tasks—just dispatches them.

Asked by Amina Diallo · Jan 24, 2026

Can the routing behavior be customized?

Yes, configuration files like .planning/config.json allow toggling natural‑language routing, adaptive ceremony support, and setting the ceremony level. You can also adjust keyword weights or add new routes if needed.

Asked by Farah Rahimi · Dec 19, 2025

How does the Do skill determine which PBR skill to route a request to?

It uses natural language processing to match user input against predefined keyword groups such as "debug", "plan", "add", etc. The keyword scoring algorithm selects the highest‑scoring group and forwards the request to the corresponding skill.
