Cloud BlocksDesign and validate cloud infrastructure through a chat interface

Overview

Cloud Blocks is an AI assistant that lets engineers plan, build, and review cloud infrastructure using natural language. Instead of writing Terraform or CloudFormation from scratch, users describe what they need and the tool drafts architectures, configurations, and dependency maps in real time. Beyond generation, Cloud Blocks validates designs against common best practices, checking for misconfigurations, security gaps, and cost concerns before anything is deployed. The conversational workflow makes it useful for both experienced cloud architects iterating on complex setups and developers who want guidance while learning new services.

Key features

  • Chat-based infrastructure design
  • Automated configuration validation
  • Infrastructure-as-code generation
  • Best-practice and security checks
  • Architecture visualization
  • Iterative refinement through dialogue

Use cases

Draft Terraform from natural language

Describe the infrastructure you need in plain English and generate Terraform or CloudFormation drafts, skipping the boilerplate of writing IaC from scratch.

Pre-deployment validation reviews

Check proposed architectures for misconfigurations, security gaps, and cost concerns through automated best-practice checks before provisioning resources.

Iterative architecture prototyping

Cloud architects can refine complex setups through back-and-forth dialogue, visualizing dependencies and adjusting components without rewriting configs manually.

Guided learning for new cloud services

Developers exploring unfamiliar cloud services get conversational guidance and example configurations, helping them learn while building working infrastructure.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Conversational interface lowers the barrier to cloud design
  • Generates infrastructure-as-code drafts quickly
  • Validates configurations before deployment
  • Useful for both prototyping and architecture reviews

Cons

  • Generated configs still need human review
  • Limited value without some cloud knowledge
  • Coverage may vary across providers and services

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and useful for both prototyping and architecture reviews. Chat-based infrastructure design fits neatly into how we already work, and chat-based infrastructure design removed a step we used to do by hand. Coverage may vary across providers and services, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is infrastructure-as-code generation — handled better than most — and validates configurations before deployment. Generated configs still need human review is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: best-practice and security checks and conversational interface lowers the barrier to cloud design. Where it lags: generated configs still need human review. On balance the feature set — especially chat-based infrastructure design — justifies the 4 stars for our use case.

Q&A

Can I compare pricing across different cloud providers within the tool?

Cloud Blocks lets you apply changes to your architecture and instantly view price estimates for each supported provider, helping you compare costs and select the most economical services for your workload.

Asked by Diego Fernández · Jan 7, 2026

Does Cloud Blocks validate security and cost best practices automatically?

Yes, after drafting a design it runs automated checks for common misconfigurations, security gaps, and cost concerns, highlighting issues and suggesting alternatives or cheaper services before you deploy.

Asked by Xavier Costa · Nov 9, 2025

What cloud providers does Cloud Blocks support for architecture diagrams and code generation?

The platform supports multi‑cloud design for AWS, Azure, GCP and additional providers, allowing you to create a single design and then export diagrams or IaC for any of those environments without retraining your team.

Asked by Halima Bello · Oct 17, 2025

How does Cloud Blocks generate infrastructure code and can it output both Terraform and CloudFormation?

Cloud Blocks takes natural‑language descriptions of your desired environment and drafts the corresponding infrastructure‑as‑code in real time, producing Terraform or CloudFormation scripts that you can download and edit. The generated configs are templates that still require a human review before deployment.
