Overview

AI Image Text Editor is a tool that detects existing text within images and lets you replace it with new wording while keeping the surrounding design intact. It analyzes attributes like typeface, color, lighting, and background so edits blend in seamlessly instead of looking pasted on. It's aimed at marketers, designers, e-commerce sellers, and content creators who need to localize ads, swap product labels, fix typos, or generate variations of an image without rebuilding it in a design app. Users upload an image, select the text region, type the replacement, and let the AI handle font matching and background reconstruction.

Key features

  • Automatic text detection in images
  • Style-preserving text replacement
  • Background inpainting under removed text
  • Support for multiple languages

Use cases

Localize Ad Creatives for New Markets

Marketers can swap text in banner ads or social media graphics into different languages while preserving the original typography and layout, speeding up multi-region campaigns.

Fix Typos Without Source Files

Quickly correct misspellings or outdated wording in finished images when the original design files are unavailable, avoiding a full rebuild in a design app.

Generate A/B Test Variations

Content creators and advertisers can batch-produce image variants with different headlines or calls-to-action to test which copy performs best.

Update Product Labels for E-Commerce

Sellers can edit text on product images, such as pricing, promo tags, or specs, while keeping the original style consistent across their catalog.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and no design skills required. Support for multiple languages fits neatly into how we already work, and batch editing for image variations removed a step we used to do by hand. Accuracy varies with complex fonts or textures, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: automatic text detection in images and preserves original font style and colors. Where it lags: output quality depends on source image resolution. On balance the feature set — especially background inpainting under removed text — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Automatic text detection in images just works and faster than manual editing in Photoshop. Accuracy varies with complex fonts or textures can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Q&A

Is this a manual canvas editor?

No. The first release is an AI-assisted image text editor. You upload a source image, describe the text change, and generate a revised image.

Asked by Isabela Almeida · Nov 8, 2025

Can it edit screenshots as well as photos?

Yes. The homepage covers both image text editor and screenshot text editor intent, and there is a dedicated screenshot page for that use case.

Asked by Jarrah Whitlock · Sep 28, 2025

Can it keep the same font?

It tries to match the original font style, size, weight, color, and alignment as closely as possible. For the best results, use the same-font preset and provide the original text when you know it.

Asked by Sofia Lindqvist · Sep 25, 2025

Do I need to sign in to use it?

You can browse the pages and interact with the uploader publicly. Sign-in is required when you generate an edited image.

What is Pro mode?

Pro mode lets you draw a bounding box around a specific text area, type the replacement text, and let AI (Ideogram v3 Turbo) redraw just that region. It's ideal for product images, banners, and creatives where precise regional control matters.
