Overview

Activepieces Agents is a builder that lets users create AI agents capable of taking actions across hundreds of connected apps and services. It pairs a visual, no-code interface with an underlying open-source automation engine, making it approachable for non-developers while still flexible enough for technical teams. Agents can be configured to handle tasks like responding to messages, processing data, triggering workflows, or coordinating multi-step processes across tools. Because it builds on the broader Activepieces automation ecosystem, agents can tap into existing integrations and pieces rather than requiring custom code for each connection. It targets teams that want to deploy practical AI assistants for operations, support, marketing, or internal productivity without hiring specialized engineers.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on team collaboration on agents, and combines AI reasoning with concrete automation actions caught me off guard. still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is visual agent builder — handled better than most — and combines AI reasoning with concrete automation actions. Advanced use cases can require workflow design knowledge is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: self-hosting and cloud deployment and open-source foundation with self-hosting options. On balance the feature set — especially self-hosting and cloud deployment — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Hundreds of app integrations just works and no-code interface accessible to non-developers. Advanced use cases can require workflow design knowledge can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Q&A

What is chat to automation?

It's the quickest way to get work off your plate. Chat with your tools to get answers and take action, then turn the boring, repetitive parts into automations as fast as you can describe them. We're rolling it out gradually, so it might not be on your account yet.

Asked by Gustav Lindberg · Feb 1, 2026

Is the free plan really free?

Yes. No card, no time limit. It's meant for exploring the product and building lightweight automations. You get a fresh batch of credits every day, so if you use them all, you wait until tomorrow.

Asked by Ravi Chandrasekaran · Jan 2, 2026

How does pricing work?

Mostly credits: you pay for what your automations actually run. Beyond that, the plan you're on sets how many people can use it and which features you get.

Asked by Hosanna Marte · Dec 10, 2025

What is a credit?

A credit is the single unit behind everything your automations do. Running a flow costs 1 credit, however many steps are in it. AI steps cost more, 2 to 20 depending on the model, or 1 if you bring your own AI key.

Asked by Halima Bello · Nov 21, 2025

What happens when I run out of credits?

Depends on your plan. On Free, your flows stay switched on but any runs past your quota won't go through until credits refresh the next day. On Plus and Team they keep running and you pay for the extra. Ultimate has a yearly pool, so one heavy month is fine.
