Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: rapid mockup and prototyping workflow and accepts prompts, references, and sketches as input. On balance the feature set — especially reference-based design generation — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and useful for non-designers building product mockups. Rapid mockup and prototyping workflow fits neatly into how we already work, and editable canvas for iteration removed a step we used to do by hand. but it has held up under daily use.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on reference-based design generation, and generates editable outputs rather than flat images caught me off guard. still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Rapid mockup and prototyping workflow just works and accepts prompts, references, and sketches as input. but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Q&A

Can non-designers use Mew Design to build product mockups?

Yes. Because it generates editable layouts from plain prompts, references, or sketches, non-designers can use it to create product mockups. However, output quality depends on how clearly you describe your intent or supply reference material.

Asked by Margaret Whitfield · Jul 18, 2025

Is Mew Design suitable for production-ready UI work?

Mew Design is best suited for early-stage exploration, rapid mockups, and stakeholder communication. Outputs may need manual polish for production use, and it's less ideal for highly custom brand systems where strict design consistency is required.

Asked by Tomáš Novák · Jul 15, 2025

What inputs can I use to generate designs in Mew Design?

Mew Design accepts text prompts, reference images, and uploaded sketches as inputs. From any of these, it generates editable UI layouts you can refine directly on the canvas, making it flexible for different starting points in your design process.
