I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is fine-tuning and customization options — handled better than most — and reliable performance across many domains. Worth the time if this is your use case.

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is extended context window (up to 128k in Turbo) — handled better than most — and large context window for long documents. Worth the time if this is your use case.
Does the job
Pretty happy overall. Multimodal text and vision input just works and large context window for long documents. Rate limits on API tier can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.
Solid for our team
We rolled this out across the team last quarter and strong reasoning and instruction-following. Function calling and tool use fits neatly into how we already work, and multimodal text and vision input removed a step we used to do by hand. Can still hallucinate facts, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Multimodal text and vision input is exactly what I needed, and supports text and image inputs. I do wish paid access required for full capabilities, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.
