What happens if I use the note skill in a project without a .planning/ directory?

The skill silently falls back to global scope, storing the note in ~/.claude/notes. It will not create a .planning/ directory if one does not already exist.

Can I quickly move a note into a to‑do list?

Yes. Using the "promote" subcommand with an index (e.g., /pbr:note promote 3) marks the corresponding note as promoted, effectively moving it to a to‑do context. The note file’s promoted field is set to true.

How does the Note skill store and organize my notes?

Notes are saved as individual Markdown files in a dedicated notes directory. For project scope, they live in .planning/notes/{YYYY MM DD} {slug}.md within the current project; for global scope, they go to ~/.claude/notes/{YYYY MM DD} {slug}.md. Each file includes a timestamp, a promoted flag, and the raw note text.
