Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Batch upload of multiple images just works and no software installation required. Quality and size options may be basic can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: no account or signup needed and handles batch conversion of multiple photos. On balance the feature set — especially hEIC to PDF conversion in the browser — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

HEIC vs HEIF — what's the difference?

You might have seen the term HEIF (High Efficiency Image File Format) pop up while looking into HEIC to PDF tools. HEIC is actually Apple's name for their implementation of the broader HEIF standard. Think of HEIF as the container format and HEIC as Apple's flavor of it.The reason this matters: HEIF isn't just an Apple thing anymore. Recent Android phones and some digital cameras now shoot in HEIF by default too. So if you're getting files from different sources, they might be labeled differently under the hood — but the HEIC to PDF conversion works exactly the same way.Our tool handles both HEIC and HEIF without any extra steps. Drag them in, convert them out. No config, no fuss. Whether the file says HEIC or HEIF, the same HEIC to PDF process applies — one less thing to worry about.

Why convert HEIC to PDF?

If you own an iPhone, you've probably been shooting in HEIC without thinking twice — it's been the default since iOS 11, and it saves a ton of space compared to JPEG. According to Apple, HEIC files are up to 50% smaller than JPEGs at the same quality, which means you can keep thousands more photos on your phone without running out of room. The catch? Try sending one to a friend on Windows or opening it on an Android phone — it either shows up as an unknown file or won't open at all. That's exactly why HEIC to PDF conversion is so handy: PDF is the one format nobody argues about. It opens everywhere, prints everywhere, and works the way you'd expect, whether you're on a PC, a Mac, a tablet, or a phone. No format detection, no error messages, no struggling with unsupported file types — just a file that works the first time you open it. Need a deeper format breakdown? Compare HEIC and JPEG in more detail Working with a batch of iPhone photos? Learn how to combine multiple HEIC photos into one PDF Windows and Android have no native way to preview HEIC files — they'll just show up as unopenable files. A quick HEIC to PDF conversion solves this instantly, making your photos viewable on any PC, laptop, or phone. No codecs, no special software, no digging through settings. If you snap a photo on your iPhone and email it to someone on Windows, they can open the PDF right away — no extra steps or explanations needed.PDF is about as universal as it gets. Asked by Bianca Ferreira · Nov 13, 2025

What is HEIC format?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's image format — it's been the default on iPhones since iOS 11. It cuts file sizes by about half compared to JPEG at the same quality, which means you can store nearly twice as many photos on your phone. The downside? Not every device handles it well. That's why HEIC to PDF conversion is such a practical workaround: PDF works everywhere, no questions asked.

Asked by Nils Johansson · Oct 13, 2025

How to convert HEIC to PDF?

Just drag and drop your HEIC photos into the converter above, or click the upload button to browse your device. You can also import files from Dropbox or Google Drive if your photos are stored there. Arrange the pages however you like in the editor — reorder thumbnails, pick paper size and margins, and adjust quality. Then hit Convert. The whole HEIC to PDF process runs locally in your browser using WebAssembly, so there's no upload step and no server to wait on. Once it's done, download the PDF straight to your device or save it directly to cloud storage.

Asked by Damian Wysocki · Oct 5, 2025

Where are my files stored? Is it safe?

Right inside your browser, on your own device. The entire HEIC to PDF conversion happens locally using WebAssembly — your photos are decoded, processed, and turned into a PDF without ever leaving your computer. We have no servers that receive your files and no way to access them. If you decide to save the result to Dropbox or Google Drive, that's a direct transfer from your browser to your own cloud storage — we still never see the data. Once you close the tab, everything is gone.
