Are there any limitations I should know about?

Functionality is limited to what the Google Tasks API provides, so advanced features not exposed by the API (e.g., custom metadata) aren’t available, and compatibility depends on the MCP client’s support for the server’s endpoints.

What task operations are supported through this server?

You can list, get, create, update, and delete both task lists and individual tasks; you can also mark tasks complete, move or reorder them, and clear all completed tasks from a list.

Which MCP clients can I use with the mcp-googletasks bridge?

The server works with any MCP client, including Claude Desktop, Cursor, and Codex, as long as the client is configured to point to the server’s address in its config file.

What steps are required to set up the mcp-googletasks server?

You must create a Google Cloud project, enable the Google Tasks API, create OAuth credentials, set the required environment variables (GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID and GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET), install dependencies with npm, build the server, and then add the server to your MCP client’s configuration.
