Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is describe and rewrite functions for prose polishing — handled better than most — and multiple tools for description, dialogue, and plot. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: chapter-length document editor and purpose-built for fiction and creative writing. Where it lags: less useful for non-fiction or technical writing. On balance the feature set — especially canvas for outlining and world-building — justifies the 4 stars for our use case.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Brainstorm tool for plot and character ideas just works and purpose-built for fiction and creative writing. Subscription pricing may deter casual users can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and helpful for breaking through writer's block. Story expansion and continuation tools fits neatly into how we already work, and story expansion and continuation tools removed a step we used to do by hand. Subscription pricing may deter casual users, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on brainstorm tool for plot and character ideas, and purpose-built for fiction and creative writing caught me off guard. Subscription pricing may deter casual users is why this isn't a perfect score, still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.
