概要

MayaMCPはAutodesk Maya用のModel Context Protocol (MCP)サーバーの実装です。AIアシスタントクライアントにより、マヤを自然言語で操作することが可能になります。このプロジェクトはまだ初期段階で、焦点は設計と単純性にあります。Maya 2023とMaya 2025のテストを行いました。MayaMCPサーバーにはマヤ内にインストールする必要がなく、MELスクリプトのデフォルトのコマンドポートを利用することで、Mayaに自動的にアクセスします。MCPサーバーにはPython 3.10以上が必要で、pipを使用してインストールすることができます。

What can I actually control in Maya with the current version of MayaMCP?

The early‑stage release supports basic scene management (new, open, save), object creation (cube, sphere, lights, cameras), listing and setting object attributes, selecting objects, and listing objects by type. Advanced modeling tools are listed but not yet functional.

How does MayaMCP connect to Autodesk Maya without a plugin?

The server leverages Maya’s default Command Port, which is always open for MEL scripting. MayaMCP communicates through this port, so nothing has to be installed inside Maya and it works with Maya 2023 and 2025.
