  • Text-to-UI component generation
  • React and Tailwind code outputs
  • Iterative design through follow-up prompts
  • Live preview of layout, styles, and components
  • Conversational editing in Vercel ecosystem
  • Customizable shadcn/ui-based components on demand
  • Contextual assistance with Vercel pipelines

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is support for shadcn/ui components — handled better than most — and outputs clean React and Tailwind code. Heavily oriented toward the React/Tailwind stack is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Text-to-UI component generation is exactly what I needed, and outputs clean React and Tailwind code. but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: text-to-UI component generation and tight integration with the Vercel ecosystem. On balance the feature set — especially conversational editing and iteration — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Küsimused

Do I need Vercel?

For the full experience (environment variables, deployments, previews), your GitHub repo should be connected to a Vercel project. You can still export code and deploy elsewhere.

Asked by Dara Fitzgerald · May 20, 2026

Can I work on my existing codebase?

Yes. You can import a GitHub repository and work on it directly in v0.

Asked by Boris Yankov · May 7, 2026

How do previews work now?

Previews now run your full application exactly as it would in production. This means server-side code, API routes, database connections, and environment variables all work in the preview. What you see is what you'll get when you deploy. Under the hood, v0 uses Vercel Sandbox—a lightweight virtual machine that runs your app in an isolated environment. This replaces the previous browser-based preview, which had limitations with server-side features.

Asked by Gunnar Eriksson · May 2, 2026

I used the previous Git integration. What changed?

The new workflow is fully automatic. No manual commits or branch management required.

Asked by Lorenzo Bianchi · Apr 29, 2026

Why can't I push directly to main?

By design, v0 protects your main branch. Changes go through pull requests so your production code stays safe.
