Yes. Your subdomain at yourname.mycrab.space is reserved to your token and doesn't expire as long as your account is active. Free tier included.

What happens if my computer is off?

Your app goes offline while the machine is off — same as any server you'd run yourself. Your crab address and tunnel config are preserved. When you're back online, the tunnel reconnects automatically.

Do I need a VPS or cloud server?

No. mycrab runs on your own machine — laptop, desktop, Raspberry Pi, whatever you have. Cloudflare tunnels handle the routing. Your machine doesn't need a public IP.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and no need to manage DNS or certificates. Permanent public web address per project fits neatly into how we already work, and permanent public web address per project removed a step we used to do by hand. but it has held up under daily use.

Can I test an app on a free address and then move it to a permanent subdomain later?

Yes — and this is exactly the intended flow. The tunnel and the domain are separate things. Install your app on the free temporary address, get it working, then purchase a permanent subdomain. Give the token to your agent and it repoints the tunnel to your new address. The app doesn't need to be reinstalled. The crab is reusable.

How can I make my crab persistent after a reboot?

Your agent handles that too — when setting up, just tell it to make the tunnel persistent on reboot. It will configure a systemd service (Linux) or startup task (Windows) so everything comes back up automatically after a restart. No manual steps needed.
